Journalism Fellowships
As a journalism graduate student at SOC, you can learn from the best in a newsroom through fellowships at top media outlets or changemaking nonprofit news organizations, including these current opportunities:
The Investigative Reporting Workshop Graduate Fellow researches and reports for one or more major investigations during the academic year. Recent reporting and co-publishing partners include The Washington Post, The Fresno Bee, The Tampa Bay Times, Public Health Watch, WAMU in Washington and WWNO in New Orleans.
The 51³Ô¹Ï SOC ESPN fellow joins investigative efforts as part of the Enterprise Unit. Fellows have access to mentors from a team of about 50 journalists and managers, including sourcing, reporting, data journalism, freedom of information requests and more. Applicants should have 2-5 years of investigative experience. Prior work in or an embrace of reporting on systemic and social inequities is highly favored.
